Ruby White Tips - Boo2

Humpday! Halfway to the end, which leads to the imminent beginning....

Ruby White Tips. Laura has some amazing polishes on her etsy store. Check them out! You can keep up to date on RWT Facebook page - there is a new collection just released :)

This is Boo2 - Boo is a Bat. I kid you not. A Bat in a Sanctuary, and a percentage of sales on this polish go towards helping that sanctuary. Here is some cuteness for you! Meet Boo.

Boo2 is a blue sheer base, with fine holographic micro glitters. You can use this as a top coat over blue or purple. I chose to use three coats of this polish alone, and I like the effect. It's light and summery and very pretty. This lasted a good week on my nails without chipping, I had some minimal tip wear and I was using cleaning products quite a bit!

I really like this polish for a summery look - at a barbeque, outdoor party or shopping day!

Gina Tricot - Shimmermint

Good afternoon lovelies!

Today I have a really cool polish to show you from Gina Tricot.

Gina Tricot is a Swedish based website, offering fashion, accessories and some beauty products. I had been speaking to a friend of mine who lives in Sweden and had been told about this site, and it's nail polishes!

So we here go - I will show you the first of three polishes I purchased from this site; Shimmermint.

Shimmermint is a pastel mint colour with a gorgeous silver/golden shimmer inside. It's really a fabulous polish to take from day to night, as it has a subtley to it that allows it to be worn in both casual and social situations!

I used two coats for this polish, it has a thick consistency which made it quite opaque but you do need to be careful to allow drying time between coats, so as not to get mounds of it on the edges of your nails!

Polishes are €3.95 each or 3 for €9.95. I used Parcel Motel to ship to a UK address! I love this polish!

Rainbow Honey "The Summer of 199X"

My last post showed the preview of this collection...I received my sample pack this week and I was so excited when it came to opening it :) These are the first Rainbow Honey polishes I've tried, and they certainly live up to their reputation. I am honoured to be part of their blogging network and to be showing these to you today.

I received 3 polishes; pink cloud, tiny ruby & lumine hall. I couldn't wait to try them out!

First I am going to show you; tiny ruby. This is a red, but with a twist! Described as a shimmery ruby jelly; it has a pink twist to it, almost like a burgundy but pinker! Inside there are pink hex that shimmer to purple and large hex that shimmer to gold. It is a total festive polish!! I really like it.

I used three coats - application was smooth, once thin coats are used.

Next; lumine hall. Described as an indigo jelly, this did not disappoint a blue lover like me! It is deep like the ocean, with aqua shimmers and square holographic aqua hex glitters. I just love the depth in these polishes!

I used three coats again, which are required with thin application :)

Last but not least, I will show you pink cloud. I really can't choose a favourite, but this might edge out in front. Described as a hot pink jelly with holographic glitters and iridescent shimmers, this is a girly girl's dream polish. It is packed with pinks of every variety and pops on the nail like a neon pink!

I used three coats again, with thin application.

Overall, I am in love! All these polishes have so much going on. They have subtle shimmers and glitters that make them unique from a lot of polishes I have tried in the past.

I urge you to get something from this collection - you can purchase them directly from their own website here or on Mei Mei's Signatures here.

Part I is made up of 5 new glitterbombs bursting with shimmer and color – they all layer to opacity but can be used over other colors as well. Part II is 3 new shimmer-dusted cremes and 2 new glitter toppers that give each creme a bold or sweet look. I am so excited to add these all to our lineup!” – Dee

Barry M Kiwi

Hello to my lovely people out there!

Recently, I picked up the new Barry M Gelly polishes (they are so divine) and I've been wearing them to work on different occasions. I have had compliments on the brightness of these, and this time of year really is the time to get your bright on!

I am going to show you Kiwi in more detail.

To get started, here's a picture of an actual Kiwi - just to get in the mood! It's one of my favourite fruits.

I took these photos in natural (bad I might add) light. The colour is far brighter which you'll see further down.
I used two coats but I may have gotten away with one. They are wonderfully pigmented polishes.

These pictures were taken with flash - this gives a much more accurate depiction of the true colour of Kiwi. It's bright, and it's wonderfully green. I do love green personally and this one is a must-have in any collection!

You can get Barry M in Boots and Superdrug stores in the UK and Ireland. They are also available on Barry M's website here, on Nail Polish Direct here, and Littlewoods UK & Ireland. From the US you can get Barry M on Ninja Polish.

Modi 74 - Classy Mint

Hi readers!! I've been slacking on the posts, only because I was quite ill for a few days. I am better now though, and excited to show you this polish. I showed you Pumpkin Jelly a few days ago and this is a sister, Classy Mint.

I lovely greyish toned mint green or even a pistachio might be a better description for it, with pink and silver glitters. I used two coats for this polish. I like it - I like the simple glitters against the base.

What do you think?

This was an eBay bargain - I love Korean polishes!

Essie Madison Ave hue

Howdy readers! I am holed up this week with a bad throat infection so it is possible that I will be posting lots of blog posts due to being stuck to my couch!

I have today, on this Wednesday, a beautiful pink from Essie's Madison Ave-hue Spring Collection 2013, Madison Ave hue itself.

This gorgeous pink has a silver shimmer and it's so girly and pretty, it makes you happy inside!

Having had issues with streaky polishes from Essie in the past, I was a bit apprehensive of this one but it's a beaut - 2 coats for opacity and it shimmers and sparkles in the sunlight. It wore really well with my Essence base/top coat combo for a week with minimal tip wear. I think this one will be a go-to for me this summer!

Iconic Effect

It is so exciting when a brand new Indie brand pops up, and when it's UK based it is even more exciting.

Iconic Effect, a new UK Indie Brand which is owned by two lovely ladies; Kelly & Kerry has just begun a very exciting new venture supplying us addicts with even more handmade pretties.

I was so excited to receive two polishes from their first collection of six; Portfolio Pink and Purple Paradise.

Portofolio Pink is a pink creme with an almost shattered pink glitter effect. There are tiny tiny pink shatters that shimmer with a purple hue in the bottle.

On the nail it takes only two sheer coats to build up colour. I really adore this on my nails. With my pale skin tone, this shade of pink suits me perfectly. It is subtle.

And now, Purple Paradise. I layered this over Portfolio Pink as it seems an apt base :)
This is a packed-full purple and pink glitter top coat. Pink circles, Purple squares, smaller rose circles and a hint of holo; it's a really interesting topcoat. I used only one coat over the pink - it is jam packed!

Overall, I am so impressed with the quality of these new polishes. The pink has a really nice formula - it's not gloopy so no dragging on the nail! I cannot stand gloopy polish. The glitter is so full you only need one coat. Good job girls, I can't wait to try more!

Please keep up to date with Iconic Effect on their Facebook page; linked above.

Modi: 73 Pumpkin Jelly

Sunday afternoon, I am sat at my desk in the spare room surrounded by polishes.

This Modi polish, which I purchased on eBay is a really good summer colour. A rich orange toned yellow with different sizes of red glitter in square and hex shapes - it has a really nice formula. I only needed two thin coats and for a yellow, I was really happy!

Have you found any eBay bargains? Quirky polishes that you haven't seen before? I quite like this Modi brand, and will be searching for more!
